Art Form In General :

Kathak is the dance form that is traced in ancient literature. Through this, the Kathakas (storytellers) illustrate their anecdote through dance. The gestures, rhythm, whirling movements and pauses are primarily features of classical dance form “Kathak”.

The creativity that went behind this choreography:

Devesh loves to listen to music and the one which roosts down in his soul, he elects to choreograph it. This exactly happened with this video of “Ghar more Pardesiya”, he was in China and was teaching his students, and his students asked him to listen to this song. While returning to Mumbai, he watched the song with the video on loop visualising himself whirling on it.

He decided to take the hook step of the song for his choreography, and the rest of the whole choreography was his invention. His best friend shot the video for him, and she also told him it’s hard to seize his movements and gestures in a camera because of the swiftness in his dance. But when they saw the end product, they both were so delighted. And this video went out viral on social media.

Credentials:

Currently, the video has 12 lakh views on YouTube and overall for all such dance videos, he has staggering 26 crore views.

The inspiration that twirls around choosing this art form:

Every choreography of Devesh depicts the strong affection and respect for classical culture. Kathak should itself be an inspiration to everyone because the essence of this art form is tremendous. The thing that stimulates him to keep working hard is his audience love. One day, he received an email from his fan saying that she was hospitalised because of some disease and how his dance videos rebuilt her. With this, he understood the integrity of his art, and that incident inspired him the most.

Devesh is a dance enthusiast, his world twirls around music and dance. His unwavering commitment towards dance, he evolved as a professional and famous International artist. He choreographs many students from all over the world. He still treats himself as a student and believes in furbishing the dancing skills.

At a very young age, Devesh’s mother caught his versatility in dance and decided to enrol him in professional dancing classes. He was sixteen when he joined dance class, but being an introvert, it was a bit tough for Devesh to dance with the crowd. With a duration of time, he started getting recognised by his dance teacher, which elevated him to enhance his dancing skills.

Within one year, he gained confidence and optimism to start with his training classes. And from there he never looked back, he started discovering new choreographies. His talent got immense love and appreciation, and many doors of ample opportunities opened for him, which he was entirely ready to grab.

He was delighted when approached for Bollywood and still believes it to have started with the most amazing phase in life. And his choreographies made him globally recognised, and he is still waiting to work with famous dignitaries, so for him, the journey is still on!

He further adds that you need to dedicate ten years to practice and mastering the art, but the learning should never stop. There are no shortcuts to success.
