Art Form In General:
It is a pencil sketch. Here, the artist has used a combination of both charcoal and graphite pencil. And yes pencil sketching is our artists’ favourite medium to convey his message.
The Words Conveyed Through The Art:
THRISSUR POORAM: Sachin created this beautiful art to reveal his love towards Kerala. He has magnificently portrayed this huge festival of the state. It is one of the biggest temple festivals and all of India gathers to experience the grandeur of this festivity. The prime element displayed in this piece is UNITY. It gracefully shows how people regardless of race and caste gather to celebrate this vibrant festival.
FREEDOM: This beautiful representation of women tied with ropes but at the same time a bird is an apt metaphor for freedom. The artist wants to convey that even though you are tied to ground you do have the wings to fly. Just look for the right time and fly away from the cage.
Inspiration That Went Behind Creating:
Sachin thinks on varied aspects before creating an art. In respect of the pictures featured here, there is a great deal of inspiration that went behind curating these liberating pieces.
Talking about The Thrissur Pooram sketch, the creating journey goes back to 2017 when our artist first witnessed this vibrant festival. He was mesmerized by the beauty of it and when he realised that there are not many sketches devoted to this particular festival. And then he religiously devoted himself to create an apt representation and he surely did a commendable job to do justice to the essence of the festivity. Also this is one of the most successful pieces of his career as he quotes.
When asked about the Freedom painting, Sachin meticulously points out the societal descrimination against women. The injustice that happens on a daily basis towards women is the story that goes behind this creation. The society has become really harsh towards women and the degree of assault increases every single day. He wanted to send a deep message to the mass to stand up against such practices and make the world a brighter place to live in.
