About Aerial Arts:

Aerial arts originates from circus arts. Aerial Silks is a subgenre of Aerial Art – It incorporates choreography with apparatus that is often attached to the ceiling, allowing performers to explore dance, poses and drops in the air.

Graceful Inspirational Moves: 

Zeel had always been an athletic child who was active and jumpy most of the time. She states that aerial arts is an emerging art form and is not known much in India. She wants to spread the word about this elegant art form through her graceful moves. She wanted to learn something that fused dance and athletics together. It has enabled her to explore herself and her athletic aptitude. She performs all her routines with poise. She feels an adrenaline rush while practicing and performing. 

Stitching Tales Behind The Silk Wraps: 

Aerial Arts needs equipment to learn and to expand our horizons. Aerial moves according to Zeel are quite complicated and they do require a fair amount of practice to sharpen and add glitter to the piece. Zeel describes her rigorous practice ritual by stating that it takes almost 2 hours to create a 5 minute piece. She adds that one move is broken into two to fine-tune the step and is later joined to create a segment. It takes time and classic twirl and spin to perfect the act. Along with this, core strength, flexibility, and conditioning are important to maintain balance and practice meticulously.

Zeel’s Musings: 

Zeel Soni is a 23-year-old professional aerialist. She owns Aerial Arts India which is the only Aerial Arts academy in India.Born in Dubai, she has extensively traveled to various countries which have exposed her to different cultures and styles. She got introduced to this art form in a workshop and she was left intrigued by it and started learning it from there and then. She started teaching herself after buying her own equipment, then pursued professional training and now is an excellent trainer. Other than this, she keeps juggling between various fields such as being  an illustrator, fashion designer, and a visual artist as a freelancer.

Credentials:

Zeel is a certified aerialist from American Circus Educators which is a milestone achievement for her. She also holds First Aid, CPR and AED certification to ensure every student under her guidance is in a safe place.

.Zeel believes that practice makes perfect.Consistency and hard work are the main ingredients to attain success. Also, it requires immense discipline to learn this art form as stated by our artist. Dedication is the factor that will make you excel in your field.
