Guntas Sethi is the newest Instagram sensation with 29.8K followers. She is a Patisserie chef from Le Cordon Bleu, London. Guntas was interested in cooking from her very childhood. She grew up with both her parents, who loved cooking, especially her father. Her dad cooked more than her mom, and that is what inspired her to become a chef and follow her passion. Her father was obsessed with cooking and the science behind it. As a child, she watched the Gordon Ramsay shows on discovery channel along with her dad.

But she did not start her career as a chef. Initially, she worked as a chartered accountant, as she did not want to do hotel management. But she didn’t enjoy working as a CA. It was monotonous for her. She wanted to pursue her passion for cooking and went to London Le Cordon Bleu.

Chef Guntas says that the lockdown has been a gamechanger for her. She started posting her work more on social media and started getting positive responses. She posted her recipe first on Instagram in May 2019. Her followers increased from 2700 to 29000 within 9 months.
Guntas’s family has supported her a lot in her journey as a chef. Her husband is a foodie and always motivating to do better. Her father comes up with the weirdest recipes and inspires her to share them on social media. The amount of support she got from followers, friends and family was crazy.

Chef Guntas became the most famous with her Pull Me Up Cake. The recipe went viral, and she started getting several orders. Suddenly in 3 days, she got 100 k views. Her customised lipstick also went viral and got 1.6 million views on social media.Since then, there has been no looking back for Guntas Sethi. She participated in Amul’s live recipe videos and got an appreciation certificate. The mid-day article featuring the pull me up cake gave her appreciation and recognition as a chef. Her live chat with Pooja Dhingra was a dream come true. She also featured in Vogue, Femina and The Hindustan Times.

The journey of becoming a successful chef was not easy. During the lockdown, a couple of her family members were affected with COVID 19. It was really difficult to manage work, Instagram and personal life. Maintaining personal life and meeting up the demands of work was tough indeed. She had to manage her work while maintaining the safety precautions of COVID 19.

She had to deal with mean comments on Instagram whenever any recipe did not go well. But Guntas believes that there are good days and bad days in every profession. She says that her clients are her true inspirations. They come up with weird requests. They come up with options you wouldn’t have even thought about. While fulfilling the requests of her clients, her recipes become viral.

Presently Guntas is working on a new menu. She is also concentrating on building content for Instagram. She is camera shy and is trying her level best to cross these little barriers. She considers her team as her family and would not like to do anything that would make her team detest her. This mindset is motivating her to move on despite some days of failure.
Guntas advises the upcoming generation not to give up. She says 1 bad day cannot define who you are. You should keep striving and never give up. She believes Instagram is a great platform to showcase talent, but it cannot define your true identity.
