Presenting before you, Vinayak Ghoshal, a Mumbai based dancer and co founder of Natya Social, a thriving and fulfilling dance school.
Vinayak has had a graceful and challenging journey in this field of swirling legs and he has knocked all the hurdles off to be where he is today. Let’s walk with him on his road to success and get to know him and his passion for dance more.
As a child Vinayak was a nerd. He was always found immersed in his books and didn’t try his hands on anything else. But, when he was in 4th standard a breakthrough happened for him and he took part in a community performance at his school. He didn’t learn dance professionally, he just took parts in various events that the school organized.Later when he entered his junior college, his school called him to choreograph dance for an annual day function. He was thrilled and he took this opportunity in an instant. From then on, he choreographed various events and earned a lump sum amount of money out of it. While in senior college he chose BMM as a career option and so took up a lot of opportunities in those years to hone his skills. Later, when college ended his life took a tragic turn. He lost his father to an accident. Family and economic pressure dawned upon him and he had to perform his duties. He took up a lot of internships at various firms and worked at a call centre to sustain his family.
When he took some time out of his chores, he realised that dancing had been perennial in life and he wanted to learn more of it. He found about a dance workshop nearby and took a step forward. He was amazed when he attended the workshop, the dance world appeared really different to him. He was intrigued. This workshop acted as a messiah for him and he joined a 3 month course at the dance school to explore his talent and test his limits. He learned many different forms of dance and he felt happy at heart. He hustled a lot, fought obstructions, faced setbacks but he didn’t let any of this cease his outlook.Now, a rock which was still unturned was providing income to his family. Even though he choreographed various events, the income wasn’t consistent. It was highly project based. Although in these times as well he was posting regularly on Facebook and Instagram to reach more and more people organically through his flawless steps. He faced a pressure from home for monetary purposes. And knew he had to do something. In this course of time, one of his friends offered him a job at an international school and this bolstered up the process totally. He received regular monthly income and his family was satisfied. After that, he joined Team Naach, and there he uncovered various other aspects of his niche and learnt them steadily. He even started his YouTube channel and posted his dance videos, improving at every next video. Intially on Instagram he just started with 1000-1500 followers. He wasn’t able to gain and reach more audience. But then, just like a ray of light, overnight his followers soared up to 4000+, he was awestruck. He found out that the hike was due to a video posted by team naach featuring him. He was eternally grateful for this gesture. This video kicked off his presence on social media.
People started watching and appreciating him. He wanted to do something big and teach more and more people so for that he started with the Workshop culture. He choreographed Mitwa Song, which received love in abundance and more people started joining his workshop. He earned a good amount out of this. He travelled to different cities for his workshops. Money was also an important aspect for him because he wasn’t coming from a well to do family. Both his passion and sustainability walked hand in hand.
A new feather is adorned in his hat of success recently as he registered his company, “Natya Social”. His aim is to reach heights and do whatever it takes to reach his desired milestone.
His only mantra for success is consistency. Be consistent in your work, devote yourself and nothing else can stop you.
