ART FEATURED:
Fashion illustrations
ABOUT THE ARTFORM:
Illustrations are digitally drawn sketches with the help of various tools and softwares. They are open ended and one can manipulate according to their imagination and requirements. Fashion illustrations, specifically, are made to flaunt gorgeous dresses and designs.
THE GLITZY TALE:
Vibhu absolutely loves illustrations and she can effortlessly do it all day long. She doesn’t view illustrating as a job but as an activity she can practice anytime and anywhere. Her stint in this genre of art was rather incidental. She initially started illustrating to escape from college pressure. We’re all familiar with the recent 2020 lockdown that kept all of us on hook and everyone of us were burdened with emotional instability. Vibhu faced the same outbreak and she sought refuge in those miraculous illustrations. It became her therapy and her escape from realism. It is always said that all we need is a little push and Vibhu got that push when someone commented on her old illustrations on her social media. She took out her colors after a span of 3 years and started illustrating her passion onto canvas. She swore to draw something everyday and she is resolutely practicing that resolution even today.
THOUGHTS THAT SPIRAL IN HER WITS:
There are gazillion ideas in an artist’s mind and to fuse them together is where the talent lies. Vibhu describes the same fact by stating that it is a mess and to glide through it intricately is what makes an art alluring. She rejects her own work a couple of times to get a satisfying product. It takes from 10 hours to 24 hours to actually get the final outcome. There is a whole lot of thought process that keeps on running in mind and that leads to improvisations. But at the end, when she receives so much appreciation and love for her illustrations, she feels content and all the hard work elegantly pays off.
VIBHU’S GRACEFUL STORY:
Vibhu Mehta is a fashion designer and commercial illustrator. Dropping out of CA was the toughest decision Vibhu took in order to achieve her dreams. Her family wasnt supportive initially but seeing her dedication and love towards art made them give in. She was criticised for dropping out of a career oriented course and for taking up something which is utterly unpredictable. But she was adamant and now she is successfully pursuing her chosen profession and she is immensely proud of where she stands out.
TWO CENTS OF WISDOM:
Vibhu advises everyone to never give up on their dreams. She asks all of us to practice relentlessly and devote ourselves to our art. She describes that if you do something you love there are no tiring phases and you enjoy every moment of your journey.
Lastly, she shares an impactful when someone asked her why art? And she proudly answered, “Because art keeps me closer to who i am” and we believe that this is the perfect quote to end the section.
