Vaishnavi hails from Chandigarh, and she belonged to a lower middle-class family. Never having experienced a luxurious life as a child, she recalls buying her first phone when she started working.
Problems she faced
Vaishnavi used to work with TCS but had to quit her job after getting pregnant as she faced many complications during her pregnancy. After becoming a mother, Vaishnavi experienced postpartum depression. She wasn’t willing to accept her role as just a housewife and a mother. Experiencing constant mental and emotional breakdowns, she would always stay at home and wonder about the path her life took.
With a strong urge to regain her confidence, she felt that focusing on her fitness would be a good start. She started working out at home and then decided to join a gym. Her in-laws were quite conservative, and going to a gym was a big issue. However, her supportive husband convinced his family, and her fitness journey began.
Fitness journey and success
At the gym, people would often talk behind her back. People told her she would have muscles and look like a man. She would sometimes break down at the gym, but she was committed to herself. However, she stayed focused and transformed herself. She took to social media because she wanted to share her story. She realized that there are probably innumerable women in the world who face the same struggles she did in many fields. People are not supportive of their dreams, and therefore they must live the way their parents or husband want.
Vaishnavi believes that women can take care of their families and go after their dreams too. She shared many emotions on her social media, and she got immense support and positive feedback. Then she got certified from ISSA and started training people. She believes that the gym is a place for self-improvement, and no one is perfect at the gym.
She met many girls who were experiencing many physiological and psychological problems. There were young women who were experiencing PCOD, PCOS, etc., there were girls who were being forced to marry; some were depressed because they were overweight. Vaishnavi liked interacting with people and helping them reach their fitness goals.
Vaishnavi believes that her whole fitness journey has made her strong and independent. She lives with her son in Punjab, and her husband is in Delhi. Her husband is highly supportive of her aspirations. During her postpartum depression, her husband was benevolent and helped her seek medical care. She considers herself lucky to have found love with her husband, who even supported her fitness journey.
Her son is 9 years old, and he likes to follow her healthy diet. Fitness, she believes, is a lifestyle. Her advice to all husbands is to support their partners.
Vaishnavi believes much in karma. She promised herself that she would work hard and focus only on that. Everything else would be taken care of by karma. She had never thought she would be a celebrity, but she is humbled by it and wants to keep inspiring women to do things for themselves. She believes everyone should do something that some people will remember you by after you are gone.
