Shyam’s First Love: The Stage!
Shyam’s journey as a violinist began at an early age of 4 when his cousin randomly suggested that he try out the violin. Shyam enjoyed the violin realizing that he has a natural flair for it. At the age of 9, he realized he loves performing on the stage and this is something that will remain with him forever. He heartily says “my passion for ‘performing on stage’ is larger than my love for music!”
At such an early stage of his music career, Shyam does at least 15 to 20 concerts a month, is trained in Carnatic music, and is constantly looking at works by other music creators for inspiration.
Working Smart!
Shyam is not blinded by ‘just music’. Every move of his life is planned smartly. He was studying engineering and in the final year of his college got opportunities to perform at weddings and corporate shows. That’s when he realized, he could churn an income out of his music hobby.
Shyam is a musician at heart but businessman by brains, he always studies his competitors and music industry trends to be ahead in the game. His advice to all aspiring singers is “Put your head down and keep working hard but every now and then look up and think of ways you can get business. Since music has been running in my soul since childhood, I can make music easily but the competition is endless and therefore I’m constantly keeping myself up to date with trends to innovate my music.”
He adds “Many musicians dream of quick success by their videos going viral but that is just luck by chance. Make good music and aim for steady growth.”
Shyam is open to everything that listeners love, he doesn’t restrict his music and explores different genres now and then. His versatility in music is what makes him more successful than most musicians.
Shyam’s Life: One Milestone at a Time!
Shyam learned skills in digital marketing at his workplace and later on started his agency. He says that for the initial months, his Instagram growth was very slow and to date, he is looking for the right team members. He believes that the biggest set back in his growth is that he doesn’t have a team to shoot his music videos but on the other hand, has an amazing audio team.
The highlight of his Instagram profile is him posing with the violin uniquely in every picture. Another USP is the personal connection any follower would experience as Shyam posts about every small detail of his life from music to food to motivating thoughts.
When asked about his future goals, Shyam comments ” I don’t have an end goal, I set milestones for myself at every stage of life and keep succeeding by accomplishing them one at a time.”
Along with Carnatic music he also tunes in Bollywood songs through his violin paying tribute to pioneers like A.R. Rahman and Shreya Ghoshal.
Shyam’s workaholic nature urges him to never sit ideal which is why he loves being flooded with work whether music, business, or study. Shyam has also appeared in the famous MTV show ‘ Ace of Space’ which we’re sure to tick marks one of his many milestones.
