His trick is to market ingredient brands of Amazon in his recipes and says that Amazon has a much larger vision for influencers than any of us could imagine. Therefore, all aspiring food bloggers get ready for the boom in the food blogging industry and take down tips from Vidur’s inspiring journey!
Always a Foodie!
Vidur started his career by opening a café in the bustling area of Gurgaon. In 2016 he had to shut his café due to insufficient funds and got diverted towards food blogging. As a café owner, Vidur was not just the regular manager! He showcased an interest in studying consumer behaviour and analyzed why people prefer particular restaurants/food types. To earn his bread and butter Vidur partnered with a friend’s agency which helped in restaurant marketing and promotion.
Blogging which had then started as a hobby is now a full-time job having uncountable collaborations every month. He got his first collaboration offer in 2016 with a South Indian restaurant and was clueless about blogging at that time but took up the opportunity. Vidur recalls his childhood times as a food critic, commenting on the dish’s taste as well as identifying taste enhancers: “add a little salt to make this better” he laughs.
Captures India’s Specialty!
Vidur’s blogging USP is its Indian touch. He says “in the earlier years it was just Indian food but now we have too many options. I love North Indian food and have always captured cuisines of India.” From Haryana’s curry to Mumbai’s vada pav and sev puri and Gujarat’s fafdas and dhoklas, Vidur has categorized his favourites in every city of India. He says that during the lockdown his blog is gaining double popularity because he posts homemade Indian recipes which families in India can relate to. His growth on Instagram is completely organic and his niche will always remain ‘Indian food specialities’.
Friends, Opportunities, and Positivity!
Just like any entrepreneur, Vidur had his cup of struggles too. Initially, his parents did not support the idea of blogging until they realized that this is an upcoming field. Vidur manages his blog all by himself and is very grateful to his friends Shubham Arya, Amar Sirohi for being his backbone in motivating as well as helping him click pictures.
Vidur believes that life is all about change and grabbing the right opportunity is essential. For example, he was interested in modelling and theatre during college days and is now a food professional. His advice to all bloggers is to “keep posting daily and use amazing lighting like the daylight for better picture quality.” In the future, he wishes to start a YouTube channel but will need to hire a team for that. His mantra for success is the song ‘Duniya mein jeena hai toh kaam kar pyare’ and he constantly sets a goal for his ‘followers army’ to keep growing with the help of curating good content.
