Yash had a very normal childhood. He was pampered by his family, and he enjoyed food and gaming like most kids. He was involved in some sports too. He didn’t have any fixed plans and just wanted to join his father’s business when he grew up. He studied commerce and then studied law. There was never any pressure from his family to pursue any particular field.

Journey to fitness

As a teenager, he had eaten a lot of junk food and would spend hours gaming. This caused him to gain weight. Around age 17-18, he realised the need to be fitter. During his 12th-grade summer break, he worked out for two months intensely. He kept it up, and within eight months, he had managed to lose 40 kilos. Once he had succeeded, he helped a few of his friends and several other people in terms of guidance and motivation. This was when he realised how empowered he felt helping people, and he decided to turn this into his career.

Career

Yash never approached the idea of becoming a coach from a business perspective. He simply wanted to help people. He liked the feeling of euphoria he got from people’s responses and gratitude for the help he offered them. He started his career as a coach in 2017. He helps people in a more wholesome way by helping them with diet, energy levels and body composition.

Issues faced

Yash feels that the career of health coaches and nutritionists is not well-respected in India. Many parents are also not very supportive of this choice. His parents did not consider his passion for fitness as a long-term career option. However, Yash succeeded, and his parents have been supportive throughout, but even more so now. A lot of upcoming nutritionists, coaches, and trainers also face the issue of not being supported. Yash understands that parents want their children to have safe careers, which is seemingly not a safe bet. However, he feels that there is a lot of satisfaction to be gained and good earnings if one is adequately trained and can help people.

Achievements

Yash feels that his most significant achievement is that he can add value to the lives of people. He is often asked about which transformation he thinks is his most notable achievement. He always answers that all the transformations he has helped with are achievements he is proud of. Yash has a degree in nutrition; he has trained with several foreign coaches and has applied his learnings in India. He is currently pursuing three certifications.

Instagram journey

Yash has 196k followers on Instagram at the moment and is an inspiration to fitness freaks. He gives helpful advice and inspires people to take fitness more seriously. His massive growth on Instagram was a gradual process. Pictures on Instagram are misleading, Yash believes. Comparing with others is also not the way to go.

Yash believes that people have to make fitness and eating nutritious food a lifestyle. Only doing it as a new year’s resolution is not enough. Yash also believes that people should be fulfilled from the inside, love what they do, and aspire to be better. Mental health has to be prioritized, and meditation is an excellent way to start.
