Fiza Sharma had a dream of pursuing a degree in music from Trinity College London on which she put all her efforts to get a scholarship to follow the same. But when balancing studies and music became a sturdy task for her, she had to take the toughest decision to leave her studies of music.
But, when she got a chance to perform in an inter-college music competition, the show of her life took a U-turn. For the first time, she was performing with her guitar in front of everyone apart from that foreigner examiner. The way she stole the show and the heart of the people of Ludhiana while creating magic through the music. That was the time when boys were only seen playing guitars. She was much loved and appreciated for her performance.While she started posting her singing videos playing the guitar, she got reasonable recognition in her city. But, at that time, she was completely unaware of how to earn followers. But she kept on posting the videos of cover songs of many famous Bollywood and pop songs. While living on the hope of her work being noticed some days, she got a surprise one fine late evening. She got elated with the love and response she got for a cover song on “Tu Kafi hai,” mostly when celebrated like Sonam Kapoor and Daljeet Singh acknowledged her work. The ecstatic feeling of luck and recognition came to her that day when singers like Armaan and Amal Mallik shared and appreciated Fiza’s cover song on “Next to me.” From a girl who was utterly clueless on growing followers got thousands of followers overnights.
She never wanted to be a playback singer who sings behind the curtains. She always had the dream of holding her guitar and playing in front of lakhs of people. The great American singer cum songwriter, Taylor Swift, is the inspiration to keep the zest of singing up in her life.
She was going through the phase of life when netizens considered her just as a cover artist who does not have the capabilities of publishing her song. But, she knew how to convert negative comments into the gateway of success. Once when she fought with her best friend, she penned down her emotions as lyrics. After a blending melody, instrumental into that lyrics, when she posted her video on social media sites, the response she got was overwhelming.
