Ramachandiran’s Instagram gets every onlooker glued to the screen as it showcases the most beautiful frames of wildlife captured in his camera lens. However, that’s not the end of his outstanding portfolio! Ramachandiran also organizes training tours all across the world for wildlife lovers and is among the very few to be an EOS influencer for Canon India.

Nature Lover Turned Wildlife Photographer!

Ramachandiran was always fascinated with spotting animals. He hails from a small village in India and recalls the time when he stayed up at night to spot an owl or travelled to the tea estates with his cousin to see elephants.

Ramachandiran has always been close to nature and admires every element of it. Therefore, he chose to specialize in a very rare type of photography: ‘Shots on Habitant’ which don’t generally get a lot of likes on social media but through his exceptional clicks, he has won many hearts.

8 years back Ramachandiran finally took this up as a career. He says ” Self-exploration and on-ground experience is the key. I started by clicking pictures and used to compare my pictures to beautiful shots on social media to improve my angles. I believe the camera doesn’t give the output, the angle of the photo does! Therefore, if you are just starting up, a phone camera is sufficient to click.”

His parents gave him the full freedom to explore wildlife photography and his wife is fond of the wildlife world too. He notes he saw a black panther for the first time with his wife while they were touring.

Touring the Globe to Capture the Best Shots!

Ramachandiran has travelled to South India, Rajasthan, Jim Corbett, and many more locations in India to capture wildlife. Additionally, he has also traveled to remarkable international wildlife destinations like Kenya. He notes that out of all places Maasai Mara has given him one of his best shots.

According to Ramachandiran, Maasai Mara has different lightings throughout the day, animals can be followed for long miles due to its landscape and the place is among the most expensive ones which make it less populated.

Ramachandiran has contacts and a thorough study of these destinations which makes tour organizing cheaper and easier for him. He treasures training moments and recalls scary incidents wherein his friend dropped his new iPhone in front of the lion followed by a time when his group was chased by elephants.

Conserving Wildlife Is a Necessity!

In the future, Ramachandiran plans to start a wildlife touring company, visit Africa in 2021, and visit Norway to click pictures of Polar Bears.

However, he is concerned about wildlife conservation. He urges everyone to not just indulge in saving money but also take care of deforestation, air pollution, and global warming to prevent wildlife from getting extinct.

Ramachandiran says “wildlife photography gives me self-satisfaction! For my bit of conserving wildlife, I’m in the process of tying up with companies like ‘How Many Elephants’ which is a UK based conservation company. I’m providing them with pictures to make their job easy.”His message to aspiring photographers is “Patience and following your Safari guide’s guidelines are the most important thumb rule. It takes days to get the perfect shot so quick clicks is not an option. Lastly, let your creative juices flow to capture the most unique pictures. As wildlife doesn’t have a stable income it is only when your pictures are published in magazines your income through this profession will begin.”
