Uncertainty is the artist’s ultimate destiny, especially for struggling to make a mark in the Indian entertainment industry. Vibha Bhagat, a cast member of the Beyhadh TV show, explains the vitality of holding on to patience while getting recognition as an actor in B-town. Unlike a 9 to 5 job, this field is full of surprises and ambiguities, and therefore an artist needs to be prepared for a rollercoaster ride of professionalism. Vibha Bhagat is originally from Punjab where she completed her education doing theatre acting. At the age of 21, she was actively performing in numerous theatre shows, and that was when she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a recognised actor.
Try to Be the Person You Often Look for during the Bad Times
Vibha states that when you are struggling as an actor in Mumbai and your family is like a thousand miles away, you tend to look for emotional support. We often hunt for a reliable companion or a friend so that we can confide our feelings and fears in them. That’s an utter dependency, and this is where you lack strength. What if the person you trust isn’t around you at the worst phase of your life? Instead of searching for a person to take care of you, you need to be responsible for your emotional well-being. This is the kind of lesson we have learned after being captured in our own homes by the pandemic.
Educate Yourself & the Artist within will Somehow Find A Way
When she started doing theatre shows, she knew the road to success is full of ups and downs for actors. Keeping all eggs in the same basket didn’t seem like a safe choice, so she continued her art education and obtained her doctorate while doing theatre shows and tv commercials. Aside from acting, Vibha has also served as a DPS teacher for a few years.
Apart from this, she is also a part of Himalayan University and guides students on various projects and assignments. She vaguely remembers her time of struggle when finding acting jobs was a significant difficulty. For more than four years, she couldn’t land a stable interim assignment, and she had to survive solely on tv commercials. Even during this span, she was calm and patient because she knew that the best was yet to come.
Make Self-Grooming A Habit to Keep the Despair Away
Falling into depression is evident when you are going through a financial crisis, and there is no work. Vibha claims that self-grooming is one of those impeccable initiatives that you must consider while dealing with the global pandemic’s consequences. She is a proud vegetarian and rarely consumes dairy products. Even though the options are quite limited, she manages to create her ideas for enjoying a proper nutritious meal. Other than good food, she indulges herself in 3 good hours of Yoga and meditation every day. All-in-all, that vibrant glow on her face and a confident smile says it all about her healthy lifestyle.
Vibha mentions that grown-ups need to be more responsible for their actions and learn to survive when things aren’t going well around them. Despair and frustration aren’t going to take you anywhere, so you must buckle up and treat yourself. Something will turn up eventually!
She always says,” Whatever comes to you, accept it or adapt it with your open arms and never ever stop learning, never ever stop yourself from doing anything, Stay healthy, fit and spread love .”
