Little did a simple girl from a Punjabi family know that she was going in for the rollercoaster ride for real in life when she was partaking in all the extra-curricular activities at school! A talkative, friendly, and very social Shruti Sharma is a celebrity anchor, writer, and storyteller whose story goes like this…
Hailing from a family of well-educated people, Shruti has completed her Masters in Commerce and her career began with the corporate world.
With family around, the strength doubles up.
Having been disowned by the in-laws somewhere in Punjab for accepting to raise a girl child that was to be born, Shruti believes that making the right decisions at the right time matters. So, with a daughter in her arms, a divorce in place, and no career, she felt blessed to have supporting parents who had her back then and continued to stand by her choice to date. Her daughter not only brought her luck but continues to bring joy to her life as she is set to step into her teen years of life.
She says, “When you’re alone you are vulnerable. Nobody can ever touch your confidence when you are surrounded and protected by the people who care for you. A strong support system of such as the family would take you places irrespective of what industry you work for.”
Soon after her daughter was born, Shruti moved back to Mumbai and struggled to get a job amidst the recession in 2008. When she landed one after a haggle, there was the battle to juggle between a mundane job and her new-born that needed all the attention.
She worked as a skill, language, and hospitality trainer (she had left her accomplished career as a language and Hospitality trainer to get married in Punjab. However, post-separation, she started from scratch as a customer support agent and became Business Development Manager in a span of 7 years), when one day, she decided that she didn’t want to be absent during her daughter’s most important early years of life after having missed her first steps and words.
Let your vibe connect with people.
So, she took to freelance writing to connect with the world outside with her social, talkative, and friendly aura. She wrote about her experience, celebrities, and more as she constantly began to learn more as well. Soon, she gained recognition as a celebrity writer and a famous blogger.
From this point on, there was no stopping Shruti Sharma as she launched her blog in 2018 and started interviewing stars and celebrities. Her blog was nominated by IAWA and Indi Blogger Awards (IB). She was also honoured as one of the strongest women of India by IAWA. Her peers and friends encouraged her to create video content. She was strongly inspired to create entertaining content for folks of the older generation who had limited access to entertainment. She wishes to provide the Gen X folks with a show that was beyond mythology.
Keep working for yourself. Followers will come.
Shruti is not only self-motivated, she is a self-taught and a self-made person who passionately works with all sincerity and doesn’t mind the negativity of people, ‘energy suckers’, as she calls them. Technology has been her refuge to build a successful career and IOT has been her guide in filtering and selecting the suitable content to create quality entertainment content and help her thrive in her profession. “Don’t worry about the traffic on your social media profile. Keep going at it and you will shine if you believe in your work and if your work is sincere,” she says.
Having been aware of her blog’s success, she started her own production, INWE Entertainment, company a year after the blog in 2019. Shruti drew inspiration from Simi Garewal, an actress she looked up to and her talk show, to commence a talk show of her own. Her talk show picked up fame in no time and she was blown away when she received a compliment that her show reflected the dignity and poise that was seen in Rendez-vous with Simi Garewal. Shruti realized that when one works hard and passionately towards their goals, roadblocks clear out and things fall in place automatically.
Her confidence peaked and she shed her fears. She believes that instead of accepting harassment and torture in the married household, one must muster the courage to turn around and reach out to parents or somebody trusting them to support you when you need it the most. There is no harm in doing so while what’s important is to pick yourself up when rendered helpless and get going.
