“Try to learn something about everything and everything about something”, a quote by Thomas H.Huxley that resonates much with dimpled beauty Aanchal Agarwal, a powerhouse of talent & wit. She’s a marketer, a content creator, a comedian and an education enthusiast with a number of degrees to her credit.Aanchal hails from the heart of India – Indore, Madhya Pradesh and is the youngest amongst her family of 17 first cousins. Having a strong upbringing encouraged her to always speak out her mind and make concrete decisions without any regrets. Although she fared very well in school, she was always inclined towards sports and extra-curricular activities and once held the position of being a National Level Badminton player. Aanchal has always been a go-getter and never shielded away from any challenge thrown her way. Clearing a campus interview for a job obtained at Coffee Day Beverages was much of a shocker to her professors who thought otherwise of her capabilities.
Always known for having to speak her mind out without any fancy filters made her indulge in a light debate with famed controversial comedian Kunal Kamra at an open mic in Mumbai, which happened to be her first ever live performance.
She moved to Mumbai owing to her new job, but destiny had a different calling for her when she made an attempt to try her hand in the world of acting by sending her pictures to Yash Raj Studios. That gave her a positive boost and she enrolled in Anupam Kher’s Institute of Acting. Aanchal thereafter acted in many commercials for leading brands and even was part of Star Plus channel’s TV show “Ek Bhram.. Sarvagun Sampanna”. She shared screen space with the TV industry’s popular and veteran actors. “The world of acting comes with its share of struggles but you pick yourself up and move on”, is something Aanchal firmly believes in and practices.Her venture into standup comedy came organically with her inbuilt wit and humour coming handy. Besides, performing in front of a live audience gives her a thrill and boosts her confidence to a whole new level, which makes comedy come so easily to her.
The all-rounder has even had her stint of interviewing celebrities on YouTube’s Shuddh Desi Endings videos and creating content for them. She extended this experience by creating her own Live show called Dedx, which was born of her own live interactions on Instagram.
Dedx hosts industry experts like famed content creator Kusha Kapila, Zee studios CEO Shariq Patel, Psychologist & Therapist Omar Bazza, comedian Jaspreet Singh among a few to impart their experience and lessons learned that came in handy for them.
Aanchal always looks forward to learning new things and uses the lockdown time productively by enhancing her skills, taking up new courses, learning French amongst the various other things that keep her hands full. Her Twitter is flooded with thought-provoking and whimsical statements. She seeks fulfillment in reaching out to people and believes in helping people without a selfish motive. This according to her keeps the balance of the universe. Aanchal, who is unapologetically a feminist, believes woman empowerment comes from the knowledge of choice, freedom of exercising that choice, and room to make mistakes. One must embrace independence and success without feeling the need to compete with the opposite gender. Finally, true feminism lies in practicing womanhood by uplifting each other.
