ART FORM IN GENERAL:

Doodling is creative and quirky in nature. You scribble illustrations and color them vividly to give it an animated look. They are subjective and are dependent on a person’s imagination. It is an enjoyable task to practice.

AN ENDEARING ILLUSTRATION:

Shweta describes doodling as a connection between the audience and her. She feels that daily doodles are highly relatable and people easily connect with the characters. The source of inspiration for her lies everywhere and everything that encircles her and grabs her attention. The vibrancy of the art form makes it different and interactive. Shweta shares that she draws daily illustrations and spices it up by her own style making it look unique. One of her favorite things is drawing characters because they are very interesting and can be used to portray different emotions and moods. It infuses life into mundane daily illustrations. She always admired children’s books and the creativity it held. She always had dreamt of designing one and she proudly made her dream come true. She illustrated a children’s book this year which added one more feather in her doodling hat.

ESSENCE OF CREATION:

The ideation process is the first step towards creating. She shares that she always conveys a story through her illustrations and that requires first-hand research. It doesn’t happen in one go. A thought process keeps on running in mind while creating. After that comes the sketching or creating the blueprint of the illustrations. After improvising and refining the sketch, to add life to it, colors are poured. And then comes out the beautiful final outcome that is delivered to us. It appears that the process is quick and hassle-free but it is not. It requires accurate knowledge, sharp skillset, and precision to create a marvelous doodle.

SHWETA’S TALE:

Shweta Singh Baidya is a Pune based doodle artist. She pursued engineering as a profession but quit her 9-5 job to follow her passion. Art has always been a part of her life and she kept on honing her skills to pursue it as a career. She took up every little opportunity that stumbled upon her and daily practices helped her develop a basic understanding of the art form. She has come a long way since then and she is flamboyantly grateful for the journey.

TWO CENTS OF WISDOM:

Shweta has few suggestions for all those who are striving to excel in this field. She asks everyone to focus on the quality of the work they are doing. She also advises to not run behind the numbers on social media and pay attention to their skill and sharpen it every day. Observation and practice every day are the key according to Shweta.

As we come to the end, Shweta quotes, “she turned her cant’s into cans and her dreams into plans.” and there’s no better way to summarise her journey.
