Art Form In General:

Travel photography varies from other subcategories of photography. It is a genre that has few constraints to its portrait qualifiers, but will also examine the photographer to extreme lengths due to the abundance of challenges confronted. Within the travel photography genre, one can expect to see a vast range of images and will want to seize anything from the variety of landscapes, street, portraits, culture, underwater scenes and more!

Saurabh

The inspiration and story behind this iconic picture:

According to Saurabh, travel photography is exposure to all the magnificence of Mother Earth. This picture captured is of Rameshwar Temple. It takes a keen eye to observe the sheer epic grandeur of the architecture. This portrait tested all his patience and zeal to capture this eye-pleasing moment. The portraits captured have an intrinsic connotation to it.

To get the isolated surroundings, he woke up early in the morning to seize this view into his lens as Ramanathaswamy Temple is the most famous temple devoted to Lord Shiva located in the state of Tamil Nadu, India and always thronged with devotees. When he visited the temple early in the morning, he detected the soft daylight. But being a smart photographer, he was carrying a tripod with him to evade such problems. After staying for long in the same position, he got the opportunity to capture that one great shot. Also, as photography is no more allowed in this place, this is a rare picture of that place

Brief about the artist and why travel photography as a career:

Saurabh Chatterjee is a travel enthusiast. While travelling, his interest got inclined towards photography. And eventually, with all the dedication and commitment, he became a travel photographer and a trainer. But before evolving as a skilled and successful photographer, he worked in the IT department for ten years. He realised that this was not something that he was liking.

A photograph is like a recipe and the memory is the finished dish. Saurabh was travelling but then at the same time he wanted to seize those remembrances with him, and from there journey of photography embarked. Saurabh talks about his struggles in this world of competition. He started with adequate photography training classes. He took calculated risks to explore this avenue, and as always there’s a trustworthy saying that ” Take the risk, or lose the chance.” He earned the glory, and with every capture, he is trying to discover more and polish his vision.

As of now, he has built a decent portfolio of places in India. His future goals are crystal clear; he wants to see every sight of India. And dreams of discovering a great photographer in a person who holds a camera.

Focused cents of advice straight from the artist:

Saurabh guides newbies to step out of their comfort zone and stop fabricating negativity within themselves. Because the notable failure is when one doesn’t even strive and give up and in that way, no one can become successful.

He wraps with the beautiful and encouraging quote, “A great photograph should give the impression that it could not have been taken a second before, or after.”
