A big spoonful of hard work, combined with a dash of dedicated focus, sprinkled with a seasoning of luck is the open book recipe of success for most actors trying to make a mark for themselves in the industry of drama & dreams. Actor Nitin Goswami, having not wanted to settle for this generic tried and tested mantra, makes the dish more exotic in his very own way by letting fear of failure not get in the way of grabbing the right opportunities and emphasizes on the importance of right networking.Being a powerhouse of talent and blessed with an alluring personality, Nitin comes with an engaging back story of his journey to being an actor. The son of a policeman in Haryana meant for Nitin to someday fill in his father’s shoes. But destiny had other plans and it began its work when he watched “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai”, a movie that was famous for captivating massive box office success. It created such an impact on him that Nitin swore to transform his then lanky physique into building a ripped body even if it meant not having access to a gym.

Nitin chose to overcome this hurdle by substituting niche gym equipment with basic household items like water buckets for weights.

His days of struggle coerced him to live a very meagre lifestyle – from staying in the slums of Delhi to skipping a meal, he’s faced it all with a strong intention to succeed always hovering in his mind. Nitin worked as a medical representative soon after and remembers one of his most sentimental purchases being a set of gold bangles for his mother.

Soon after his father, having a change in heart, supported his son’s budding aspirations of being an actor and sent him off to try his luck in Mumbai.

With a scene no less moving than that of a tear trickling movie, he came to Mumbai with the last of his savings, ready to put up with any challenge that life throws at him. But luck did favour him pretty quick with opportunities pouring in from ad shoots of top brands like Raymond, Domex, Boroplus to name a few.

Having struggled initially in front of the camera, he put in his all to overcome this hurdle of fear by putting in long hours of practice. Even though he was fortunate to receive a scholarship in the famed Barry John’s acting school, he considers himself to be a self-taught actor. He took it on himself to work towards perfection and sharpening his acting skills. Some methods include reciting the poems of the famed Indian poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and rehearsing audition scripts in different emotive styles

Success poured in for him with back to back shows on the Indian TV like Savdhaan India, Qubool Hai, Siddhivinayak and so on.

Finding a footing in the acting world isn’t an easy task and one is susceptible to getting conned and even have a distasteful experience of the casting couch at stages of the upward climb. But genuine opportunities do float around and one must be ready to give it your all is what Nitin strongly believes in and practices. Besides he always feels blessed for dropping in at the right time and right place.Work hard till results show their magic is his mantra of achieving all he sets his mind on. “No opportunity is too small to start with and working towards becoming the best version of yourself” are the pearls of wisdom he parts with.
