“Your journey has molded you for the greater good” quotes Asha Tyson. Hailing from Mumbai, Vikaas Kalantri has never wanted to settle for something less in his life. Starting from an Assistant director, then an Actor and then adopting the profession of a director. He has done it all. Vikaas Kalantri, always believes in grabbing the opportunities and working dedicatedly on it. Being blessed with a decent and supportive family, Vikaas always had a colourful childhood. Initially at a very tender age, he was more inclined towards becoming an IAS officer. But destiny had other plans for him. While pursuing graduation, Vikaas always used to get selected for debates and dramas on priority. Performing on stage, and being a part of the art and entertainment ,he decided to be an actor.
He started his acting course in Mumbai. K.C Bokadia, an Indian Film maker directed him towards his dreams. He believed in Vikaas’s skills and dedication. He taught Vikaas to begin from the start, he suggested the role of assistant director with K.S Adhiyaman in ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’. Being behind the stage Vikaas learnt the art. And soon Vikaas was recommended by Adhiyaman for a lead role in ‘Pyaar Zindagi Hai’ which was his first breakthrough. Here the door to success opened for him with the grand welcome. Vikaas moulded himself into an Actor rapidly, and pushed himself into catching the opportunities. He has also been a part of many other popular hits like Dil Bechara Payar Ka Maara, Naqaab, Nayee Padosan and many more. He still remembers the feeling of thunder of applause for his first film, which gained him massive popularity.
Nayee Padosan was a hit so when the producer wanted a sequel of Nayee Padosan, he called Vikaas back for the role. Vikaas being the powerhouse of talent and versatile actor served some new ideas in front of the producer. Being an outsider for the industry, he wanted to sign a new face for this movie. He took the entire project of Nayee Padosan 2, he made his own company ‘White leaf entertainment’ and hosted a Talent Hunt.
Vikas enjoyed the glamour and fame, but he found his happiness by being at the back stage and directing the events. After a few years, he made ‘Celeb Connect’ which was his other baby project. White leaf entertainment’ and ‘Celeb Connect’ became his key to his success. He gave sleepless nights towards the success of his projects.
Alarming times also came when many competitors tried to degrade him in the industry but his motto was simple, ‘Keep working on your dreams and aspirations, and don’t fear hurdles.’ He took ‘Gold Awards’ on the International platform in Mauritius, all because of his confidence and optimism towards handling criticisms and fighting with struggles in his way. But was the ‘Gold Awards’ enough for him to sustain his company? Definitely no! He learnt more, got much more experience by handling events and soon he was showered with great events and ads.
Entertainment industry is jammed with glamour and talent, but is also filled with criticism and competition. Everyone in the industry has to deal with trollings. Vikaas Kalantri has a simple say in this, he says ‘It’s better to block the person rather than entertaining that person’ which sounds amazing.
Vikaas Kalantri has not finished yet, he still wants to create and explore. His plan is to take his companies to a whole new level. His future plans are sorted and designed which just needs to be executed. With all his present experience in his life, Vikaas Kalantri wants to put one message into notice, ‘ Create your passion, and stay focused towards it. The day you will start loving your passion every struggle will be a pleasure to you.’
