Her Childhood

Being raised in an orthodox Muslim family, Tharana was brought up with the notion of being the perfect housewife with a good family when she grows up. As the years went by, she aspired to become a teacher or doctor to contribute to the betterment of society by doing something she loved.

Unlike the toppers of her batch in school, she was never motivated by her teachers and parents to push her limits for reaching her best potential. Tharana acknowledges the fact that the schools in urban and rural parts of India are still following a pattern where only the bright minds are encouraged. She calls to put a stop to this system because just like her, there are thousands of young minds waiting to be encouraged.

Family

During public speaking sessions in high school, Tharana hesitated in speaking even one statement correctly. Despite the cultural and traditional restrictions, her father encouraged her to complete her schooling from an English medium school and encouraged her to become a better person. He did his best to send Tharana to the best college in their locality to ensure her perfect learning. When Rida Tharana decided to pursue her passion of becoming an anchor by profession, her father supported her decision and encouraged her to do the best in her field.

Career and Struggles

After completing high school with an 89% score, Tharana decided to pursue Science through a Junior College in her locality. Her maternal family tried their best to stop her from learning further by asking her parents to get her married when she turns 18. Even when her father wanted her to pursue her further studies, he asked her to stay in Coorg instead of attending college elsewhere. It was this time when Tharana garnered the courage to speak against her family’s wishes. She took the financial responsibility of holding her life together as she left her hometown for further studies.

This phase made her grateful for everything she had in life. At this point, she is about to clear her educational loan of INR 3 lakh while also taking care of her monthly expenses.

Tharana believes that the people around us take time to understand the power of “saying no” to the surrounding negativity. Starting a YouTube channel or a Creator’s account on a social media platform requires little to no effort, but keeping up the courage and determination to work on it is essential. Tharana says that everything a person does in life should not be measured in terms of money. If you do something passionately, even INR 3000 earned from it will give you the happiness equivalent to receiving a million bucks.

Anchoring and Life Plans

While pursuing her education, Tharana worked every weekend to make her ends meet. It was then when one of her seniors introduced her to anchoring. In addition to paying her well, anchoring gave her the chance to rest while earning money. This was when she realized that dreams and passion could go hand in hand when you really want to make things work.
