This quote in the title is the exact expression of Simran’s undying passion for dance and her impeccable journey. She is a dancer and choreographer and is leaving traces of her hook steps everywhere. As a kid, she was a fan of dancing. It seems as if dance runs in her blood and her veins are nothing but musical reveries. She never thought of taking up dancing as a career because she was inclined to books as well. She was a studious child with a passion for dance. Oh! Here’s an amazing and unbelievable fact about her; she first danced when she was merely 11 months old at someone’s wedding and everyone were awed by it. Simran didn’t really know the crux and varients of dancing, she just used to dance randomly like you or us. However at the age of 16 she started choreographing her own pieces. She was learning a lot, exploring new and new styles and wanted to touch every aspect of it. At such a tender age she wanted to attain everything at earliest. A tinge of independence was etched to her.

Her’s is an Industrious family and so her parents weren’t forthcoming for her to take up dancing as a career. They showed signs of concern towards her choice of dance as a profession. It was impossible to think that art can churn out bread and butter for their kid. But Simran was adamant and was ready to go any lengths to convince them.
But now, as time went by they recognised her flair for dancing and they started trusting her. They’ve gradually painted themselves with her tunes and are slightly in favour of her.

Now you must be thinking what are her favourite styles? Let’s take a look at that. She got trained at various dance studios. She is more inclined towards Bolly-hop which is an amalgamation of Bollywood style and hip hop. She keeps on experimenting with styles and brings out something creative always. But Bollywood is the crux of anything that she choreographs.

Traversing through her social media experience, she comments that social media is very important for this generation. Initially, when she joined Instagram it wasn’t so much in trend and she just used to post-normal posts like us. But slowly she thought of sharing her dance videos with her audience. She had no intention of indulging into any popularity or follower gain but eventually, people started liking her style and she received a lot of admiration. Her friends have been her constant support since day one till now. Now, she got to know about influencers life and took up the lead to be one. She learnt a lot and polished her skills every day to be better.

As Simran quotes, that follower count doesn’t matter, your work does. Initially, digital growth is slow but consistency is the key to achieving digital growth. It takes time to reach a peak and to understand technicalities. You have to be patient.

Simran looks up to Sienna Lalau who’s an LA-based choreographer who has achieved a lot at a young age. She inspires Simran every day to hustle and give out the best.

Simran loves Afro style as well because its really groovy and gets us crazy. She is also fond of jazz.

Simran’s journey was not laid with shimmers and everything pink. She had her own share of setbacks and criticism for being healthy. Another hurdle was juggling between dance and study. It was tough but she learnt management skills and everything went smoothly. She had self-doubts but she didn’t give in to anything that pulled her back. Simran believes that dance is not confined to anything, it is an art used to express feelings. It is our soul that dances and it means different things to different people.

When asked how she deals with hate comments, she replied that she just ignores it to not let negativity prevail. Her fans always defend her and she is grateful for that.

Hey! Here’s an interesting section as we go through her journal of quarantine diaries. She found it difficult in the start but later got adjusted to the circumstances. She had various plans but all of them were put on hold due to lockdown. Shooting at home was tough because of the lack of space and technical issues. Simran made the best use of the lockdown situation by enhancing her makeup skills through online videos and tutorials.

Simran’s cookie of advice to all aspirants is to never give up, be consistent, work hard and chase your dreams. She emphasizes that one should “START NOW” and invest time in the process. Also, do your own thing, improvise and bring out a unique output.
She never wants to forget where she started and just want to go with the flow. She is a strong believer of sticking to one`s roots and staying humble and modest.
